Mitch Cox joined Hygrade in 2018. He has more than 35 years of experience in Sales and Marketing in various industries. Mr. Cox held numerous senior level executive positions during his career in both building materials and consumer packaged goods, and has operational expertise across a broad base of disciplines such as category management, sales and marketing, strategic planning, sales training and business development.
Mr. Cox was a Partner for several years with Principia’s Business Insights Group, a marketing consulting firm specializing in building materials and distribution.
Prior to his work with Principia, Mr. Cox was Vice President of Sales at Trex Company (NASD:TREX) from 2005 until 2012. Mitch was an integral member of the management team that turned around the company and reestablished its market leadership in decking and railing building materials. His efforts included developing a market leading distribution network, leading expansion into the big box channel, a substantial re-structuring of the company’s sales organization and compensation plans, developing a Trex specific sales training program, implementing business analytics systems and tools throughout the sales organization, as well as senior involvement in the development and launch of its highly successful Transcend product line.
Prior to Trex, Mr. Cox worked in the consumer packaged goods industry over 24 years, including positions at General Foods, Nabisco and Kraft Foods in a variety of sales and management positions. Positions held include: Region Franchise Manager (multiple brands, multiple regions), Division Sales Manager, Director of Category Management, and Regional Vice President. Delivering a strong track record of success in developing and leading highly successful sales teams across North America, he also led and engaged in Organizational Design, Strategic Planning, Category Management Product Development, Compensation Plan Design and Sales Training.
Mr. Cox graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
